The side of the acrylic door stop with the lip needs to be facing out, away from the shower, so that the door can close against it. Position the door stop facing the proper direction. For both types, measure your new door jamb from the “curb” of your shower to top of the shower door.If your door jamb is against a wall, you may need to remove some adhesive residue. Remove the old door stop and clean both the door and the glass or wall.Your shower door jamb can either be wall to glass or glass to glass. How to replace a shower door jamb or door stop seal Snap the sweep onto the bottom of the door and slide into place. One side of your bottom sweep will have a drip edge or lip - that side is installed facing the inside of the shower.Mark how long it needs to be and use cutting pliers to cut to size. Measure your new seal against the edge of your shower door.Clean the glass edge of the door – use a glass-safe scraper to remove any dirt or residue and clean with your favorite glass cleaner and a soft cloth. If you will be replacing more than one door seal, replace the bottom one first: Replacing shower door bottom seal is very easy. Whichever type you’re buying, you’ll also need to know the thickness of the glass in your shower door – Door sweeps are sold for standard glass thicknesses like 1/4”, 3/8” or 1/2”. If you’re replacing the door stop, note whether your shower door closes against glass or a wall, as the seal for each type of shower door jamb is different. The door jamb or door stop, which goes along the side of the door that opens and keeps the door from swinging inward. The side sweep or acrylic seal (that prevents water from escaping through the hinge side of the door). The bottom seal or bottom sweep (which runs along the bottom of your door). There are 3 different types of shower door replacement sweeps: How to buy the right shower door replacement sweep Shower door sweep replacement is a fairly easy “do it yourself” project, as long as you are careful to buy the right replacement parts and measure carefully. If a sweep is torn, cracked, brittle or discolored, or if your shower is noticeably leaking around one of the seals, it’s time to replace it. General rule-of-thumb is to replace your shower door sweeps every 1-2 years, but make a point of examining them when you clean your bathroom. Like the sweeps and weather stripping that keep drafts from coming in around your front door, sweeps for shower doors break down with age and use – losing flexibility and effectiveness over time. How often should I replace my shower door seals? Shower door sweeps are the vinyl and acrylic “seals” on your frameless shower door that keep the water inside from leaking out.

Most of the apps on this list are also powered by OpenAI's GPT models. For more context, take a look at our breakdown of ChatGPT vs. While the app takes care of the features-for example, saving your conversation history-the AI model takes care of the actual interpretation of your input and the calculations to provide an answer. I love the purpose these guys are coming in for and why they made the decisions they made. Three guys coming in for a year, with a purpose. "With the current rules, this is how we'd like to use it. That's where we want to live," said Leonhard. "We want to recruit and develop our guys. In the off-season, UW signed three senior cornerbacks - Cedrick Dort (Kentucky), Jay Shaw (UCLA), and Justin Clark (Toledo). Losing two senior cornerbacks in Faion Hicks and Casear Williams, as well as junior Dean Engram who will give wide receiver a try, the Badgers had a huge void to fill. Leonhard admittedly doesn't want to rely on the transfer portal a ton, but the 2022 season may be the exception to the rule. But the other interesting question is if you could get away with draining it and filling it with exactly 4 quarts and skipping the level check. Perhaps they err on the side of caution in case their fluid guns lose calibration or if the vehicle were to experience a leak. It is interesting that it was slightly overfilled from the factory. Part of me thinks Ford deliberately formulated it with an unstable red dye to scare people into changing their trans fluid sooner. Unlike other ATFs, you can't really judge the fluid condition by the color because it gets dark so quickly (fluid is still fine). Doing multiple subsequent changes is sort of a diminishing return situation since the cost and amount of waste generated goes up quick. I think for most people a single drain and refill every 30k will be enough. Wow, I guess you were really dedicated to get a high percentage fluid replacement there. With the appearance of the fluid that I drained out, I expect that anyone who follows the "normal" service recommendation of the first fluid change at 150,000 miles will be in need of a new transmission a lot sooner than expected. Despite having driving habits that would put me on the "normal" maintenance schedule, I will be servicing mine at 25,000 mile intervals. The "severe service" maintenance schedule recommends changing the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles. Ford discussed that there might be an issue with the SYNC 3. A faulty electrical system may cause a burning rubber smell for people in the cabin. Burning rubber smell - The 2018 Escape had its fair share of electrical problems. I have attached photos of what the plug looks like, and also posted a photo of the "level check" plug location. There are two possible causes of Escape’s poor fuel economy: defective fuel injectors and clogged air filters. You will need a 10mm Hex Key to remove it. The "level check" plug is located on the drivers side of the transmission just aft of where the axle shaft attaches to the transmission. Remove it for easier access to the fill port and plug. For example, if the car has a 2.5L V6 engine with an automatic transmission it needs 5w-30 synthetic oil while a 3.0L V6 engine with a manual transmission needs 10w-30 conventional oil. There is a rigid plastic hose that runs from the bottom of the air filter box to a rubber "Y" junction at the front of the car. The best engine oil for Ford Escape is determined by its vehicle make, year, and engine type. The fill hole requires removing an air-vent plug that is held in place by a hose clamp. On the final fill, I added exactly 4 quarts and despite being "cold" there was a small amount of fluid running out of the "level check" plug when I removed it to check the level. I took about a 10 minute drive between each cycle. I drained and measured the factory fill, it came to about 4.1 quarts.Īs stated, I drained and refilled the transmission three times. I removed the upper plug and about 4 to 6 ounces of fluid ran out. My Escape has not seen any hard driving or trailer towing, and was not exhibiting any strange behavior.Īfter warming up the transmission and before draining out the old fluid, I was curious to see if the factory fill was up to the "level check" plug. The color of the factory fill fluid was darker than I would have expected at this mileage. By my rough calculations, this should have left me with approximately 83% new fluid. I did three drain and refill cycles on my 2.0L Escape at 24,744 miles. *Motorcraft is a registered trademark of Ford Motor Company. After watching a couple of YouTube how-to videos it appears that there are some differences between the 2017 and earlier models.
